In a competitive business world, excellent presentation is crucial and the modern conference space or boardroom will offer state of the art plasma screens, projectors, interactive smart boards and media walls. When incorporating new technology you have to achieve functionality alongside ease of use. Xstrata Media Wall - Conference room complete with 103" plasma screen and integrated control system
Global diversified mining group Xstrata commissioned TWP Designs to create the ultimate in subtle boardroom solutions, including a system to enable its new 103" Panasonic plasma screen to disappear behind a panelled boardroom wall, at the touch of a button.
A Crestron wireless touch panel controlled the lighting, sound equipment, Privalite glass, Sky TV, DVD and Blueray player as well as a Polycom HD video and audio conferencing system. The centerpiece to the installation was a new 103" Panasonic Plasma screen, which is electro-mechanically lifted into place when in use and otherwise hidden behind a motorised panelled boardroom wall.

SAP were moving into a purpose designed new building near Heathrow with the aim to provide a state of the art solutions and office hub.
TWP Designs were approached to mastermind designs for multi-media conference rooms.
The Solution
SAP required 10 separate areas in which to show their range of products and services to their many visitors. A high degree of screen based methods were required, but there was also a need for traditional meeting spaces. A modern, light and spacious environment was designed to give maxium flexibility.
Most rooms feature large beech panelled walls which conceal projection screens, dry wipe boards and flip charts. These are revealed at the touch of a button with motorised systems cleverly opening the panel system. Projection of the images is by both front and rear systems.

The client demanded high level performance for their new presentation room. Installation was in a complete new build and TWP specified and installed the entire infrastructure.
This included: cabling (Cat5e FTP, VGA, HDMI, EIB, 21U Rack), EIB lighting control (5 circuits with loadings of 5-JVC DLA-HD1600 watt), true HD projector (DLP) with lift mechanism and 92" tensioned motorised screen, audio solution (5 x satellite in ceiling speakers and sub-woofer, AV amplifier), Wireless LCD touch panel tablet, 400GB media server.
FTC London - Traditional walnut conference room and plasma screen cabinet
FTC wanted a traditional boardroom but also required the ability to use multi-media systems at appropriate times.
TWP Designs designed a room that gave all the traditional signals of a prestigious meeting area, while concealing an interactive plasma screen within a matching cabinet. Our cabinet makers built the bespoke conference table, seating and matching furniture, using burr oak veneers and solids. The screen is connected through concealed cabling fitted into the wall, under the floor and up into the table.
